December into January is often the best time of year to be a college football fan. We get Bowl Games, the College Football Playoffs, and all the recruiting and transfer chaos that occurs during this season. Here, we recap some of the top moments and discussion in College Football from the last month.

The Army Navy game was a banger and featured some of their best uniforms yet

College Football is great when the services academies are great. While Army was coming hot off of an American Conference championship, Navy steered the ship right through them, 31-13.

Marshall Opts Out of the Independence Bowl

In an unprecedented move, Marshall opted out of the Independence Bowl due to losing so many of their players to the Transfer Portal. The hometown Louisiana Tech Bulldogs would end up taking their place, despite every other 5-7 team but ULM having better APR.

Travis Hunter wins the Heisman Trophy

Though this wasn’t a surprising outcome, Ashton Jeanty was the closest runner up (pun intended) we’ve seen in years.

The Salute to Veterans Bowl was one of the most underrated Bowl Games

This is why you’ve got to watch them all. A hot USA offense goes against MACtion. It delivered! This play was one of many stunners in the underrated Salute to Veterans Bowl.

Kaidon Salter commits to Colorado

Colorado didn’t even have to wait for Shedeur to leave before locking up their QB of the (near) future. Kaidon balled out at Liberty and will help the Buffaloes offense keep their momentum into next year.

Tennessee Invades The Shoe

Tennessee Volunteers Twitter talked a big game about filling Ohio State’s Stadium with orange. And you know what – they did it! It didn’t impact the outcome of the game that much given a frustrated Ohio State team bulldozed right through them, but this was one of the most impressive away showings we’ve seen.

Navy beats Oklahoma in the Armed Forces Bowl

While the service academies were great this year, many thought playing an underrated SEC-tested Oklahoma would be too tall an order. Navy rose to the challenge and pulled off the nail-biting 21-20 victory.

The Sugar Bowl is postponed following the attack in New Orleans

Tragically, in the late hours after New Year’s Eve celebrations, an attack on Bourbon Street took the lives of 14 people. The Sugar Bowl in New Orleans was accordingly postponed by a day.

Carson Beck transfers to Miami

Carson Beck decides to go for the Transfer Portal rather than the NFL draft. He will join his girlfriend Hanna Cavinder at the University of Miami.
