Whether you’re an avid fan or a newbie, sometimes you just need to know how long do college football games last.

According to AthlonSports.Com, the average college football game lasts 3 hours and 24 minutes, or about 3 and a half hours.

However, this can vary greatly depending on which network is showing the game and how much they stuff it with commercials. For example, CBS is notorious for stuffing commercials into games, making them run closer to 4 hours. This may be a bummer if you’re an SEC fan, but at least they’ll be switching their games to ESPN soon.

If you’re a fan of shorter games, you may want to focus on smaller teams. FCS games are less likely to be filled with commercials, and games streamed on services like Facebook or Twitter will generally run shorter.

So, how long does a college football game last? The answer depends mostly on who’s broadcasting it.
