Mascot statues on campus are a tradition as old as time. Often, they have a lucky paw or nose that students rubbed down to the bronze for hopes of a football win or doing better on exams. They’re also a great place for graduation photos, and usually look really regal or victorious.
But, not all of them. Enter the James Madison Duke Dog Statue.

In my opinion, the Duke Dog statue is without a doubt the creepiest statue in College Football. JMU has put a great football program together, not only winning the National Championship against a mighty North Dakota State at the FCS level, but also instantly competing at the FBS level in the Sun Belt.
That being said, they don’t seem to have a championship caliber mascot statue. While it looks well built and is impressive in size, this thing has been haunting my nightmares (and likely those of many students) since first laying eyes on it.
What do you think? Does James Madison have the creepiest mascot statue in the country? Let us know in the replies or on Twitter @CFBSelect.
