The Georgia Bulldogs have a chance to 3-peat in the CFB National Championship

After winning back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022, the Georgia Bulldogs are the favorites to three-peat in 2023 (+230 on DraftKings Sportsbook). The Bulldogs return a lot of talent, including quarterbacks Brock Vandagriff and Carson Beck who will contend for the starting job, running back Branson Robinson, and tight end Brock Bowers. They also have a strong defense including top recruit Mykel Williams and defensive back Daylen Everette.

Georgia will face some tough competition in 2023, including SEC Rivals Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee, but get to dodge the powerhouses of Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M unless they meet in the SEC championship game. This generally lighter scheduling rotation certainly helps the Bulldogs chances to threepeat.

Coaching is always a major factor in repeat championships, and Georgia Coach Kirby Smart has clearly demonstrated he has what it takes to bring the Dawgs to the promised land. There’s few coaches you’d rather choose to lead your team, and no one would be surprised by him pulling off the first ever CFB championship 3-peat since the University of Minnesota in 1936.

In addition to the reasons mentioned above, Georgia also has a strong recruiting class coming in. This class is ranked No. 2 in the country by 247Sports (only behind Alabama), and it includes several five-star recruits. These recruits will add even more talent to the Bulldogs’ roster, and they could help Georgia win its third consecutive national championship.
