Week 13: Utah Defends Rice-Eccles against the Kansas State Wildcats

No. 12 Utah erased a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Kansas State 51–47 in a Big 12 shootout at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Despite the loss, the Wildcats set a program record with 472 rushing yards, led by Joe Jackson’s historic 293-yard, three-touchdown performance. Utah quarterback Devon Dampier ultimately secured the comeback with a 59-yard run that set up his own game-winning 1-yard touchdown plunge with 56 seconds remaining. 

Week 11: #2 Indiana Tested Against Penn State

No. 2 Indiana preserved its undefeated season with a 27–24 comeback victory over Penn State at Beaver Stadium, secured by Omar Cooper Jr.’s 7-yard toe-tap touchdown catch with 36 seconds remaining. The Nittany Lions had rallied from a 13-point deficit to take a late lead behind Nick Singleton, who accounted for 143 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns. Despite outgaining the Hoosiers 336 to 326, Penn State was undone by two critical turnovers that led to 10 Indiana points and allowed quarterback Fernando Mendoza to orchestrate the game-winning 80-yard drive.

Week 8: Texas A&M remains unbeaten despite 500 yards of Hogs Offense

No. 4 Texas A&M outlasted Arkansas 45–42 in a high-scoring shootout at Reynolds Razorback Stadium to move to 7–0 on the season. The Razorbacks’ offense was explosive, racking up 527 total yards behind a season-high 147 rushing yards from Mike Washington and five total touchdowns from quarterback Taylen Green. Despite the Hogs outgaining the Aggies, Marcel Reed’s 335 total yards and Reuben Owens II’s two late rushing scores allowed Texas A&M to secure their 13th win in the last 14 meetings.

Week 7: Indiana Stuns Oregon, 30-20

The unranked Indiana Hoosiers delivered a massive upset on the road, defeating the No. 3 Oregon Ducks 30-20 and snapping Oregon’s nation-leading 18-game home winning streak. Indiana’s defense dominated the highly-ranked Ducks, sacking quarterback Dante Moore six times and forcing two late interceptions to seal the victory. A late 8-yard touchdown pass from Fernando Mendoza to Elijah Sarratt gave the Hoosiers the permanent lead in the fourth quarter, solidifying a signature win for the program.

Week 5: Ragin Cajuns score 21 points in the 4th to come back

Louisiana erased a 17-point third-quarter deficit to defeat Marshall 54–51 in a double-overtime Sun Belt thriller at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium. Despite the loss, the Thundering Herd offense exploded for 503 total yards, featuring a 138-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance by Michael Allen and 258 passing yards from Carlos Del Rio-Wilson. Ragin’ Cajuns backup quarterback Lunch Winfield provided the heroics, accounting for five total touchdowns including the game-winning 10-yard scoring run in the second overtime.

Week 5: Tennessee Rallies in the 4th to Beat a Surging Mississippi State

No. 15 Tennessee survived an SEC road battle against Mississippi State, winning 41-34 in overtime, largely powered by two defensive touchdowns that kept the Volunteers in the game. After the Bulldogs took a late lead in the fourth quarter, Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar led a game-tying drive, culminating in a 6-yard rushing touchdown to send the contest into the extra period. In overtime, running back DeSean Bishop scored on a 25-yard run, and the Volunteers’ defense sealed the victory with a crucial fourth-down stop.

Week 3: Delaware Upsets UConn for their First FBS Win as an FBS Team

This intense back-and-forth battle saw Delaware, a newly-transitioned FBS program, outlast UConn 44-41 in overtime to secure their first-ever FBS win over an FBS opponent. The game featured a spectacular offensive display, with the teams combining for over 1,000 yards of offense and the lead changing hands multiple times throughout the second half. The Blue Hens ultimately prevailed after kicker Nate Reed’s 43-yard field goal tied the game as time expired in regulation, setting up Nick Minicucci’s 13-yard game-winning rushing touchdown in the extra period.

Week 2: USF Asserts Dominance with Win Over Florida Gators

The South Florida Bulls stunned No. 13 Florida 18-16 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, securing one of the biggest victories in program history and giving the team back-to-back wins over ranked opponents. The Gators took a 16-15 lead early in the fourth quarter on a short DJ Lagway touchdown pass, but USF quarterback Byrum Brown led a clutch 87-yard drive in the final minutes. Kicker Nico Gramatica sealed the upset with a 20-yard field goal as time expired, delivering a devastating loss to the Gators in Gainesville.
