A Tale of Two Programs

The 2024 South Carolina State Bulldogs
  • South Carolina State Bulldogs: Under the guidance of first-year head coach Chennis Berry, the Bulldogs have experienced a remarkable resurgence. Led by dynamic quarterback Eric Phoenix (who previously played at Murray State) and a talented receiving corps, SC State has proven to be the dominant force in the MEAC. Their 9-2 record has earned them a spot in this prestigious bowl, with their only two losses being a close game to Florida A&M and to Georgia Southern.
  • Jackson State Tigers: The Tigers, led by experienced quarterback Jacobian Morgan (who played 2 years at Syracuse and has played 2 at JSU) and star running back Irv Mulligan, have been a dominant force in the SWAC. While the departure of Deion Sanders as head coach decreased the media attention, we assure you this team gives you plenty to watch. New Head Coach T.C. Taylor has seamlessly stepped in and maintained the program’s high level of success.
